ELIJAH   MALACHI   X   MOTHERSHED Bey
Elijah Mothershed came into this world on April 15, 1974. He graduated from North West Classen High School on June 13, 1993. That same year he attended classes at Langston University, in Langston Oklahoma. Elijah and his brothers started broadcasting the Just Us Show, in 1998 from a public access station , in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 2001, he attended Tulsa Community College, in Tulsa Oklahoma, and focused on communication courses. He also made time to co-host The Hannah Chaboya Show, a public access program that highlighted Tulsa Oklahoma’s talented artists and explored the cities diverse culture, from 2001-2003. He served as a facilitator for World peace, at the African American leadership conference, in Holly Springs, Mississippi, in the winter of 2001. Mothershed has been sighted in numerous newspapers advising government officials about social issues nationally and internationally. Elijah also served on the State board of Regents for Oklahoma from 2002-2003, where he co-authored and lobbied for a controversial bill concerning gambling and state funded education. Mothersheds’ persuasive presentation of the bill lead to a unanimous vote, from the student body, in it’s favor. In the spring of 2003, Elijah founded, organized and facilitated Tulsa’s very first multi-cultural festival “River Jam at the Rivers edge”. The festivals intention was to promote ”unity in the community”, and the people came out in droves. He was also the lead character in several independent films including: “The Mystic” written by Nathan Hong and “The light switch fades” written by Captain Chambers. Since 2003, Elijah has wrote, produced, directed, and edited The Just Us Show, which is a platform for the peoples voices to be heard. This show can also be accessed on line at

Currently, Elijah is working on a film directed by Sharon Squires titled “Georgies Place”. This short highlights a group of blues musicians that come together and play at a local Juke Joint, and have been for the past forty years. “Georgies Place” has some of the best down home blues this side of the Mississippi.

Elijah’s primary objective is the completion of “Rising from the ashes of war” a documentary that focuses on the rebuilding of Sierra Leone. This film captures not only the devastation of eleven years of war but also the harnessed strength and hope of the peoples challenge to rise again as a strong democratic nation.

During the filming of “Rising from the ashes of war” Elijah meet with the some of the chiefs of the Masingbi village, in the Tonekolili Province, of Sierra Leone, West Africa. After being shown the scars of war through out the village, Elijah made a donation to the youth and in return he was given a radio station and tower that had been stripped by rebels. Elijah has initiated the refurbishing and reutilization of this structure for the purpose of educating the people and keeping them up to date with global events, as they occur. KPOV is the name of the new radio station launching in 2008 in Magsingbi, Sierra Leone, West Africa. It will provide a range of program formats ie….. community issues, local business news, health, social service agencies and multiple genres of music. Local technicians and the freshest on air talent will staff the station and be responsible for much of the daily programming. KPOV will provide jobs for the local community as well as keep listeners abreast of news and information that concerns their lives. The station will feature the hottest musical releases and guest artist. In addition, once established the station will host the “World Peace Day Music Festival” which will show case talented artist from region, as well as, abroad. All proceeds will be used to build energy efficient community housing for the disabled people of Sierra Leone.
