“Rising From The Ashes of War”: The Re-branding of Sierra Leone
A DOCUMENTARY
From the
perspective of thousands of mutilated survivors of Sierra Leone,
comes the
compelling documentary, “Rising from
the Ashes of War: The Re-branding
of Sierra Leone”. Elijah
Malachi X Mothershed Bey, an independent film producer,
interviewed the people
and captured not only the devastation of eleven years of war
but also harnessed
the strength and hope of the peoples challenge to rise again as a
strong
democratic nation. Mothershed Bey founder of Bottomline Productions a
multicultural, grass roots production company which creates documentaries and
other
media vehicles, to draw attention to social problems in our global
community.
Bottonline Productions in
association with non-profit
organizations such as War
Against Hunger (WAH), The African Cultural Exchange
(A.C.E.), The Sierra Leone
Indigenous Business Association (SLIBA), Global Network For Disabled People S/L
Chapter
(G.N.D.P.SL), Shelter for Africa, as well as, the Government of the
Republic
of Sierra Leone, to promote the rebuilding efforts of the country of
Sierra Leone.
Mothershed Bey and a film crew
spent six months filming interviews and establishing
networks dedicated to
educating and empowering the survivors many of whom lost
limbs as forces
maimed, pillaged, and tortured men and women and children in an
effort to
dominate the country.
Bottomline Productions is
seeking partners to complete the production, promotion and
distribution of this
poignant documentary, as well as, other cultural materials related to
the situation and tell the story of
Sierra Leone’s determination to be restored back to the
productive country it
once was.
